Shishito Peppers with Dipping Sauce
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
1 green onion (white and green parts), finely chopped
8 ounces (227 g) shishito peppers
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
¼ to ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
In a small bowl, stir all the ingredients for the dipping sauce to combine. Cover and refrigerate until serving time.
In a medium bowl, toss the peppers with the vegetable oil. Put the peppers in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400ºF (204ºC) for 6 minutes, or until peppers are lightly charred in spots, stirring the peppers halfway through the cooking time.
. Transfer the peppers to a serving bowl. Drizzle with the sesame oil and toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with the red pepper and sesame seeds and toss again
Serve immediately with the dipping sauce.
